Level I - 200 Hour
A unique, Yoga Alliance approved, 15 2-day session intensive created for exploring Yoga on and off the mat. Facilitated by Anna Pittman This program meets the minimum Yoga Alliance standards by meeting for a total of 180 contact hours during the 15 sessions. Please note that any time missed during the course of this program must be made up in order to meet these minimum requirements.
**Upon application, there is an Ethics and Financial Agreement shared that explains requirements and expectations. There are no surprises! These help to create clarity around financial obligations, understanding of my role as director of the program, inclement weather and more.
You will receive two manuals at the beginning of the program.
Packets are distributed almost every time we meet for both manuals.
You will also need to purchase the following books as they are required for homework and reference:

3. Yoga the Iyengar Way by Mehta
4. The Key Muscles of Hatha Yoga, Volume I by Ray Long

This program meets all Yoga Alliance requirements for a Level I program.
Each session is a gently planned balance between movement and receiving information with inquiry. Topics covered throughout the program include:
Fundamental philosophical aspects of yoga and their life application
The four outer limbs & the four inner limbs - The 8 Limb System
Breathing techniques for asana, stress, relaxation, and preparation for meditation
Alignment, props, and modifications for Asana
Eastern and Western Anatomy
Emotional integration - Pranayama
Mantra & Mudra
Cost: There is a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 upon application to the program. (This fee is not applicable to the first month's fee.)
The fee for each two - day session is $185.00

As facilitator of this program, Anna is comfortable awarding certificates to those who fulfill the following requirements:
Complete monthly homework
Finish written essay
Participated in teaching requirements both in and out of class time
Fulfill financial requirements.
This program is designed to serve students who want to learn the art of teaching and communicating yoga. It is also set up to serve those interested in the self-study aspect of the program so to deepen their personal practice.
Anna has been teaching yoga since 1988 after first studying modern dance in NYC and Milan, Italy. Her experiences in dance brought her to the refining and subtle practices of Hatha Yoga, Breathwork and Meditation. She has acquired certificates in Advanced Hatha Yoga, Massage, Shiatsu, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Breathwork, and Life Transformation Consultation and is presently acquiring a Masters/Phd in Transpersonal Psychology. She presently offers classes, private sessions and ongoing short and long Programs. Anna's dedication is to the joy of sharing the tools and skills for expanding consciousness. She has cultivated the skills in teaching, facilitating, and sharing from the heart with compassion, humor, and awe.
