About Dolores

Dolores Little, 200 RYT, Yoga Wall Level I & II Dolores attended her first yoga class 10 years ago as a means to shake up her exercise routine, but it didn’t take long for her to realize that yoga is so much more than what happens on the mat. She received her 200 hour certification from Studio Bamboo Institute of Yoga in Dec 2010, and is currently pursuing 500 hour certification under her beloved teacher, Lisa ‘Asha’ Rapp. Dolores was first introduced to the Yoga Wall at The Space Above and immediately recognized how this unique prop can open the body and deepen your practice. She attended Yoga Wall training with Bryan Legere, one of the inventors of the Yoga Wall, in early 2011, receiving Level I and Level II certification. Dolores finds that yoga is essential in helping her deal with the day-to-day stress and international travel associated with being a Security Specialist for NATO, where she has worked for the last 24 years. Dolores lives in Norfolk with her husband, David; together they enjoy traveling and spending weekends on their classic mahogany boat at their summer home on Lake Gaston

Upcoming Workshop: Deconstructing the Forward Bend with Kim Austin-Peterman

In this class we will focus on the many misinterpretations and limiting physical patterns which commonly tend to mis-align a broad range of movements including the forward bend.

We will find a more literal understanding within certain postures by looking at how our joints and muscles relate to them.

This knowledge can help us discover how freeing up our bodies will not only improve our yoga practice but also bring much ease to every day living and help us age more gracefully!

About Kim

Kim Austin Peterman CMT, RYT 500 Kim is the co-owner and co-creator of The Space Above Yoga Center. Kim has been practicing and studying yoga for seven years and has successfully completed both the 200 hour and 500 hour level of teacher training with well respected teacher Anna Pittman. At this level she is certified and registered (500RYT) with the National Yoga Alliance. Kim has also experienced profound influences studying under various Master level teachers such as Aadil Palkivala and Sarah Powers. She is currently working to complete 500 hours of study in Ayurveda to become a practitioner of this cosmic science. She will be certified by Emerson Theological Institute and the Dhanvantari Ayurvedic Center, after finishing her studies with teacher Vijaya Stallings sometime in early 2008. She plans to blend today's more modern lifestyle with the ancient wisdom of Vedic philosophy, by cultivating more interest and effort towards each. With this interest and more understanding, she hopes that the nature of an Ayurvedic lifestyle can become more available to the Western mind. Kim has also extended her yoga studies and teachings to infants, toddlers and children. She is trained and certified in the Internationally known Itsy Bitsy Yoga Program. Kim humbly and thankfully appreciates that her abilities and offerings as a mother, teacher and therapist are ultimately gifts of a divine nature.
