Karolina Szymala

Since 2004, when Karolina Szymala took her first class, the practice of Yoga has been perpetually transforming her life. In 2009, while living in Virginia Beach, she earned her 200-YTT and immediately began her practice. However, it was not until she discovered the Jivamukti style that she began to realize yoga’s full potential as well as her own as a yoga instructor. Whereas before, she felt as something was missing, the tenets of Jivamukti Yoga were able to fill in those empty spaces. Having been a vegetarian for over a decade, Jivamukti Yoga practice of non-violence (ahimsa) and animal-rights advocacy echoed her own aspirations of her lifestyle and what yoga meant for her, and what it could mean for others.
The initial impact of her first class in this new style lingers with her to this day. She steadily built a rapport with her first teacher, Narayani (Nicole Nichols), who assisted in deepening the devotional aspect of Karolina’s sadhana. Shortly after this experience, Karolina immersed herself into an intensive practice of Jivamukti Yoga, traveling back and forth from Virginia Beach to New York City to be close to her holy teachers. This all culminated in May of 2010 where Karolina attended the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training, acquiring the certification to officially teach in the style that had moved her so.
Karolina bows down to the lotus feet of her Beloved Teachers: Sharon Gannon and David Life, Geshe Michael Roach and Lama Christie McNally for unraveling the secrets of life. She is extremely grateful and blessed with the light and wisdom of Sharonji and Davidji and their elevated teachings of Jivamukti Yoga. Much Love and gratitude to: Jules Febre for teaching me how to find all that I need by looking deeply inside of myself; to Eddie Teboul for his loving guidance, constant support, and beautiful friendship; to her future mentor Narayani for her beautiful teachings, endless inspiration, and generosity; to her friends and family for their support and patience.
Without my teachers I wouldn’t be who I am now.
In February 2011 Karolina is starting her 800h Apprenticeship Program at Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC under the guidance of her beloved mentor Narayaniji.
