Certified Massage Therapist, YT 500, Certified Yoga Therapist, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Owner of The Space Above Yoga Center
Kim not only appreciates the balance yoga brings to who she is, but also considers the incredible influence it brings to her family. Raising her two children, daughter Josie and son Hobie along side her husband Greg, with the principles and understanding of yoga and Ayurveda is for Kim a wonderful way to contribute back into the world. It is her goal to forward deeply her personal devotion to yoga, and equally important for her to share, on any level, the gift of yoga with others. Kim believes that by planting even the smallest of seeds to even the smallest of insights, is giving back on a Universal level. By working with people in ways most unique to their healing needs, Kim hopes to purpose her knowledge and experience to motivate others towards a full and balanced life. Her over 20 years experience as a massage therapist has been complimentary to her abilities as a yoga therapist and Ayurvedic Practitioner. Kim has been practicing and studying yoga for nearly 20 years and has successfully completed both the 200 hour (in 2004) and 500 hour (in 2006) level of teacher training with well respected teacher Anna-Amulyana Pittman. At this level she has been certified and registered (500RYT) with the National Yoga Alliance. Kim has also experienced profound influences studying with senior level teachers such as Sarah Powers, Aadil Palkivala and Doug Keller. She has been certified by Emerson Theological Institute and the Dhanvantari Ayurvedic Center, after finishing the required 700 hours of studies with teacher Vijaya Stallings in 2008 to become a practitioner of the cosmic science of Ayurveda. Also, acquiring the accumulated experience and advanced education, Kim has met the requirements to earn her certification as a Yoga Therapist from The International Yoga Therapy Association.
Kim teaches weekly group classes using The Great Yoga Wall system. Using this system allows for a strong differential between practice and therapy.
Kim has also extended her yoga studies and teachings to infants, toddlers and children. She is trained and certified in the Internationally known Itsy Bitsy Yoga Program. She has certified in prenatal yoga and enjoys very much bringing the practice of yoga to women preparing for motherhood. Kim feels well aligned through her own personal pre and post-natal experiences, to share and encourage other women to seek a more organic, connective and amazing prenatal experience.
In allowing more personalized assessments, she is able to comprehensively integrate yoga and other unique healing therapies into serving clients and students more holistically. By blending today’s more modern lifestyle with the ancient wisdom of Vedic philosophies, Kim has created a unique offering for those who desire balance and transparency in their every day lives. She knows through pure experience how Yoga and Ayurveda can cultivate a profoundly clear understanding of what balance can do for the body, mind and soul.
Kim humbly and thankfully appreciates that her abilities and offerings as a mother, teacher and therapist are ultimately gifts of a divine nature.
