Laura McCorry

Yoga Teacher

Laura McCorry started practicing yoga in 2004 during a stressful time of her life and fell in love immediately. The moving meditation of Vinyasa Yoga quieted her mind and brought her body to a level of physical well-being she’d never known before. She experienced firsthand how yoga changes both your quality of life and your response to life’s challenges and she loves to share the transformative power of yoga with her students.

In 2011, Laura received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification through CorePower Yoga’s extensive teacher training course in San Diego, California. She credits her study under teachers Amy and Michael Caldwell of Yoga One and Paisley Close for powerfully impacting her personal practice and approach to teaching yoga. Laura believes yoga should be non-competitive, rooted in mindfulness, and inclusive of all bodies and abilities.

In recent years, Laura has relied more heavily on the meditative limbs of Yoga as she experienced pregnancy, childbirth, and new parenthood. She has taught group classes ranging from Advanced Vinyasa to Restorative Yoga, Family Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Hatha Basics. Since 2014, Laura has taught a Gentle Movement/Restorative Yoga class at The Space Above which welcomes all ages and yoga abilities to experience deep relaxation and learn introductory meditation techniques.
